Hi All,
Below is the information that I received from Fort Richardson State Park about the upcoming event the Prairie Dog chapter is taking part in. Please contact me if you have any questions. Terry and I will be coordinating our chapter's efforts for the event. Thank you in advance for your participation in the event. We feel it's going to be a lot of fun for all.

Fort Richardson State Park
& Historic Site will celebrate our 143rd anniversary by turning
back time, inviting all manner of living historians and historical re-enactors
to take us back to the 1860’s and 1870’s.
Friday the 16th will be dedicated to school groups to
participate and meet the presenters. Saturday the 17th will be open
to all visitors to meet and interact with the live-action, historical displays,
and their characters. Along with the women and civilian participants, the
cavalry, infantry, and artillery will show off their skills throughout the
day. Events will be held from 9:00-4:00
p.m. Friday & 9:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday.
Please Note:
for the safety of all those involved, vehicles will not be allowed on our
Parade Grounds between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm each day.
Dear Friends of
We would personally like to
extend to you an invitation to participate in our annual “Fort Richardson Days”
living history event. It will be held on
April 16th & 17th, 2009. As you know this event would not be possible
without the involvement and direct participation of organizations and
individuals in teaching and/or demonstrating historical arts, crafts, and
lifestyles of the late 19th century
Meals will be prepared by the
Friends of Fort Richardson starting Thursday evening and finishing up on Sunday
morning with breakfast. Your donations
are greatly appreciated and allow the Friends group to make this service
possible.
If you require camping reservations
in the park for your RV please call 512-389-8900 and make them as soon as
possible as the park will fill up early that weekend.
Again, we would like to
personally extend to you a warm welcome and invitation to come and join us for
this monumental event. Also, please feel
free to call us with any questions or suggestions you might have.
Sincerely,
Glenn Barnett and Ray Monroe
